On Thursday, 25 June 2026, the Executive Director of the Center for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity (CeFTPI), Dr. Umar Yakubu, delivered the closing remarks at the close-out ceremony of Agora Policy’s Policy Writing Fellowship (Cohort 2). The event also marked the official launch of the Local Governance Accountability Portal and the Policy Registry.
The four-month fellowship concluded with the graduation of over 20 fellows, equipping a new generation of policy professionals with the knowledge and skills to produce evidence-based policy research and analysis.
The launch of the Local Governance Accountability Portal and the Policy Registry represents an important step towards improving public access to local governance data and policy resources, reinforcing transparency, accountability, and informed public engagement in governance.
In his remarks, Dr. Umar Yakubu commended Agora Policy for its commitment to strengthening policy research and governance in Nigeria and congratulated the graduating fellows on completing the programme.
