Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping governance, public services, economic activity and decision-making. While AI presents significant opportunities for efficiency and innovation, its growing use also raises concerns around transparency, accountability, data protection, bias, human rights and the responsible exercise of public power.

The AI Governance Project seeks to strengthen understanding, accountability and responsible governance of artificial intelligence in Nigeria. The project will examine emerging AI policies and regulatory frameworks, assess governance and integrity risks, and promote informed dialogue among government, technology stakeholders, civil society, academia and other relevant actors. Through research, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement and public awareness, the project will contribute to the development of an AI governance ecosystem that balances innovation with transparency, accountability and public interest.
