Countering Organized Crimes

Globalization has enhanced the connectivity of persons which has enabled criminal elements to organize and perpetrate large-scale crimes. Nigeria has arguably become one of the epicenters of organized crimes with insecurity rising at an alarming rate in recent years. Over the last decade, incidences of organized crimes have spread in the West African Sub-region.

This is manifested in the nation’s current fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, human trafficking, drug peddling, among other heinous crimes.

The Center’s Organized Crimes program is therefore designed to support relevant stakeholders with data to counter criminal activities in the region.

Our work to counter organized crimes is in line with one of the Center’s objectives of promoting good governance and strengthening of relevant institutions to minimize risks.
