CULTISM: 3 Siblings in Police Net Over Ritual Killing in Niger

The Niger State Police Command has arrested three siblings for alleged criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide in Borgu Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Muhammadu Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Minna. He said that on April 21, 2019, at about 06:30pm, one Alh. Yakubu Garba of Wukalami village in Borgu reported the matter at the New Bussa Division. The complainant was said to have alleged that two persons rode to his house on April 19, 2019, at about 06:00pm on a motorcycle and abducted his son, Shehu Garba (35).

Abubakar said a team of policemen from New Bussa arrested two suspects at Janruwa Village, Borgu. He said during investigation, it was discovered that the two suspects took the victim to a nearby bush, killed him and cut off his hand. He said the suspects claimed that their elder brother, one Muhammadu Usman, 35, had asked them to bring a fresh human hand for ritual to make quick money.
