Adeniyi Ebenezer (aka Mary Oliver) has been sentenced by an Osun State High Court, sitting in Osogbo. to four months imprisonment for defrauding an American citizen the sum of $100. He was dragged to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2018 for extorting the quoted sum from one Anthony, a citizen of America under false pretence. The three-count charge he was earlier charged with was replaced with a one-count charge of obtaining money under false pretence, contrary to section 1(3) of Advanced Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006.
