HUMAN TRAFFICKING: NAPTIP Vows To Tackle Illegal Recruitment of Nigerians Abroad For Sexual Exploitation

Trafficking in persons is the acquisition of people by improper means such as force, fraud or deception, with the aim of exploiting them. There is a high prevalence of modern day slavery known as trafficking in persons (TIP) in Nigeria. National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons has vowed to tackle illegal recruitment of unsuspecting Nigerians for sexual and labour exploitation in foreign countries. The board also promised to interface with the leadership of recruitment agencies in Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Labour and other relevant agencies to stem human trafficking.
